if I was to have a little girl, i think my first instinct would be to create a room fit for my little princess….without going over the top pink or super girly! Keep the base light and white and add in subtle gold and pink modern touches (and a bit of leopard just for fun!).

red, white and blue is a great traditional colour scheme for a little boys room (both my boys nurseries have been in this scheme!). create an impact with a statement rug and add traditional elements like solider skittles for both fun for the little one as well as gorgeous decorations. using incy’s leon bed adds warmth with its texture and finish.

a glance at the last 6 months

after flicking through our incy blog i realized just how slack i had been at blogging. we have so much to tell you about! the last 6 months have been jam packed with all kinds of things from a shop opening, new product launches, and an overseas trip to our manufacturer.

lets start with the opening of our incy head quarters. in october the incy team decided it was time that we where all under the same roof and what better place than 139 george street bathurst? we love our little shop. it’s our creative outlet.

a new year welcomed ellie, eden, romy, declan, sophia, reese, clancy, ava, thomas and harry to the incy family. the release of 7 new cots, 3 new beds and our queen size range.

last week kristy and i traveled to vietnam to meet with our manufacturers and visit our incy factory. it was really great to see all of our furniture in production and to meet the team that is involved. we tried to soak up as much of the vietnamese culture as we could

beach inspired rooms are all about texture. you don’t need lots of colour (although a splash of yellow and blue is a perfect colour scheme), just add layers of texture; think sisals, rattan, weathered timber and a few nautical touches.

if you visit my house, you may notice a slight…..let’s call it an obsession. i have a thing for replica chairs (as you would have seen in Charlies nursery, i have the big egg chair), but it doesn’t just stop at adult chairs. no, i have a number of teeny tiny replica’s for my kids as well!

storage is one thing i think most new mum’s overlook when they find out they are expecting. mum’s are so excited to decorate the nursery with toys, new linen, furniture, art work, but often don’t realise how important storage is. toys, books, trucks, blocks, all need a home. we also want toys to be easily accessible but in my job, it’s also finding the right storage that still looks great and blends with the style of the room. here is a combination of different options which hopefully will suit your own child’s style.

1. ohhh.. I love these… and am using them in my room designs… varpunen sacks
2. old school wire baskets… great for boys.
