Winter Bedding Layers

Winter Bedding Layers

30th Jul 2021

Because your bed deserves some cosy Winter layers too.

These cool Winter nights truly make us appreciate our beds and there’s nothing quite like snuggling up under lots of cosy layers to farewell the day. There are two integral ingredients to this cushy little recipe and that of course is the bed… and the layers.

But first, some handy hints to amplify that snug snoozing situation.

Of course, your linen needs to be filled with something and for this we recommend a wool quilt. No matter the occasion, your wool quilt is there for it. The natural fibres can adjust according to your body temperature, keeping you extra snug in the Winter (and cool in the Summer – bonus!) You’re also going to want to cover your mattress with some delicious feeling material so shop around for a high thread count cotton, bamboo or linen. It’s a hot topic of debate so we will let you decide whether a top sheet is necessary or just a fitted sheet under your layering scenario will suffice.

Alas, we’re here for the pretty stuff. Those levels of loveliness atop. So, without further ado, back to the bed we go. We’ve got you sorted in that department (shocker) and whether you’re after a single, king single, double, queen or king, we can confirm that there’s always space to don some gorgeous layers.

If you’re not sure where to start and are after some inspo straight off the bat, check out our best-selling beds for kids and adults here.

The first rule of layering is there are no rules and there’s a few brands we closely follow that will attest to this (keep reading to reveal these clever culprits)

Bed layering can be split into three basic categories:

1. Linen

2. Cushions

3. Throw

Whether you’re after subtle coastal, pastel boho, wildly eccentric or a vibe that sits anywhere in between, layers are the perfect way to achieve your desired bedroom aesthetic. They can be a low investment way to add texture and charm to your space and are easily interchangeable depending on the season.

As we mentioned before, there’s some brands we gravitate straight to when we think bedding décor and because we are visual learners, we are going to reveal them through the art of amazing imagery. So please, be our guests and feast your eyes on these dreamy bedscapes below from some of the best in the layering bizz, split up into those nifty little categories we just outlined.

*Don’t mind the double ups, some of these brands just do the layering situation really bloody well!
